Balaharuwa new electric fence names after little girl Hashini.

Deputy Minister of Sustainable Development and Wildlife Hon. Sumedha G. Jayasena has decided to name the Balaharuwa electric fence built to protect villages from the wild elephants after Hashini Rathnayaka, who was killed wild elephant attack last year.

Deputy Minister promised to construct an electric fence to protect the villages when she attended to the funeral of little girl died under tragic circumptances as promised, Deputy Minister instructed the officials to construct those electric fences soon.

Large number of Participants including Wimal GalagamaArachchi, Deputy Chairman of the Ova-provincial council, Coordinating Secretary to the Deputy Minister Dimuthu GalagamaArachchi, Uva Pc councillor Roy Kalinge, Mr.Prasanna Wimaladasa, Southern Province Assistant Director of Wildlife Mr. T.K.H. Pathirana,  Park Warden  of the Udawalawe National Park, Mr. Sisira Herath, Thanamalwila Assistant Suprintendant of Police and large number of villagers were attended for the commissioning of this electic fence.
