Deputy Minister Requests President to fulfill Vacancies.

Deputy Minister of Sustainable Development and Wildlife Hon Sumedha G. Jayasena requested His Excellency the President Maithripala Sirisena to fulfill existing vacancies in the institutions affiliated to the Ministry of Wildlife. Wildlife parks, Botanical and Zoological Gardens contributed daily revenue of around 20 million Rupees to the National Treasury. Therefore, she requested the President to direct the attention of His Excellency the President to fulfill 1400 vacancies exist in those institutions, utilizing a portion of the revenue. She also commented that cabinet approval has already received for this purpose and discussions were also held with the Treasury.

She pointed out that if those vacancies can be filled, those institutions would be able to make a bigger contribution for the national economy. Deputy Minister made these comments at the “Sewa Prasadhanee Abhises 2017” at BMICH and the patronage of His Excellency President.

Gamini Jayawickrama Perera to felicitate the employees who made exemplary contribution of the intuitions come under the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Wildlife and eminent personalities of various sectors who have made commendable contributions to protect wildlife resources.
